The Resilience Community Mesh

Not everyone is on a phone.

The mesh reaches them anyway.

Every community already owns a network of screens: the billboard on the interstate, the board outside the school, the lobby, the grocery line, the church hall. The mesh turns them into one coordinated voice around an emergency, working alongside phones and holding when networks fail. Official warnings remain the authorities’ channel; the mesh carries, amplifies and localizes them.

The screens a town already owns

A constellation, not an installation.

Nothing new gets built. Public infrastructure lights up automatically the moment an event approaches. Privately owned screens join with their owner’s permission, asked for and recorded before the alert, not during it. Together they reach the people no app ever will.

The event arc

Seventy-two hours before, to long after.

The mesh wraps the whole lifecycle. It is quietly useful on calm days, urgent in the window around an event, and it is how a community finds its way back to help afterward.

Before

Blue sky

Steady state, continuous

The same screens carry preparedness, which programs are open, and how a household checks its risk. Calm days are when communities enroll.

Before

Approach

72 hours out

AccuWeather’s weather intelligence fires the trigger. The mesh wakes with what is coming, for whom, and what to do before it arrives.

During

The event

The impact window

Live updates as things change: shelters, closures, do-not-return zones. Program work pauses safely; the mesh does not.

After

Aftermath

Impact to 72 hours after

Safety and services information continues, and enrolled households can check in and report damage from wherever they are.

After

Recovery

Weeks to months

The same screens now say what help exists and how to reach it. A survivor who never heard of the RCN finds it here, and applies once.

Two channels, one record. Public screens need no sign-up from anyone. Enrolled residents additionally receive guidance matched to their own address, and every notification is kept on the record their recovery will later draw on. Delivery across the public channels runs on EZY PA; the weather intelligence that wakes them comes from AccuWeather.

Audience-routed messages

One event. Different instructions.

The same storm means different things to different people, so the mesh never says one thing to everyone. Each audience hears what it, specifically, should do next.

A parent

School pickup moves to the community center at three.

An employer

Release shifts early; the interstate closes at six.

A congregation

Open the hall tonight; cots are on the way.

A relief funder

Pre-position now; verified needs follow within hours.

Illustrative messages. In deployment, content and approvals follow each community’s emergency management authorities.
